A course for beginners starting from scratch
Basic Course — for beginners starting from scratch
Discover the basics of ceramic modeling with a practical, creative, and flexible course designed for those who want to start from scratch.
You will learn the fundamental techniques—coiling, slab building, and pinching—and immerse yourself in the magical world of clay.
You will also receive an introduction to decoration with engobe and the application of glazes.
Unlike many other workshops, you can start at any time of the year — even tomorrow 😉
👉 Book your sessions online or directly at the lab, choosing the day and time that best suits your schedule.
We are open Monday through Sunday, with four time slots available:
morning, lunch, afternoon, and evening.
This way, you can independently monitor your pieces, respecting the natural timing of the ceramic process.
You will join a shared table with students of different levels:
A relaxed and stimulating environment where you can make friends, exchange ideas, learn by observing others — or simply enjoy a coffee or an aperitif together after class ☕🍷
Each table is supervised by a dedicated master ceramist (two in total in the workshop), to ensure you receive attentive and personalized guidance. We offer two options:
- Introductory Basic Course (6 lessons / 15 hours) → 3-4 unique pieces. Perfect for becoming familiar with the techniques and materials.
- Complete Basic Course (16 lessons / 40 hours) → More convenience and creative freedom. It allows you to make more pieces, repeat techniques, experiment with different coloring techniques (layered glaze, underglaze pigments, bubbles, sponge, reserve), and create more personal and designed objects.
Classes are held in Italian and English, with sessions also available in Russian/Ukrainian in the morning and afternoon.
No previous experience is required—just curiosity and a desire to create.
Complete workstation with various wooden shelves, four types of clay, wooden and metal sticks, mirette tools, micro extruder, boards for colombini, smoothing tools and slip, jugs and glaze tubs, wooden spacers, rolling pins, brushes of various lengths, sponges, inspirational booklet, molds, plastic sealants, letter and icon stamps, hair dryer, more than 45 colors including engobes, underglaze pigments, and engobes, masks and protective aprons, sandpaper...
Firing costs are not included and are calculated based on the volume of the piece (e.g., approximately €8 for a mug).
IMPORTANT NOTE
Your piece may be damaged during firing if it is not shaped correctly — this should not happen, but it is part of the charm and unpredictability of ceramics, a living, natural material 🌋
By participating, you agree that photos or videos may be taken during the event for our social media channels (you can always ask not to appear in them at the time of the workshop).
The event may be postponed only if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
